Terms of Service
Last updated: May 4, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Strangey Dangey, a service operated by Hilltop Unlimited LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the marketing site at strangeydangey.com, joining our waitlist, or using the Strangey Dangey app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
1. What Strangey Dangey is
Strangey Dangey helps parents and caregivers evaluate kids' video content (currently focused on YouTube and YouTube Kids) by generating verdicts and category scores from the URLs, channel names, and titles you submit. The verdicts are produced by AI models and reflect our best effort to flag concerns parents commonly care about. They are informational. They are not medical, psychological, or educational advice, and they are not a substitute for your own judgment as a parent.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or join the waitlist. The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity under your account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your relationship with that provider is governed by their terms in addition to ours. If you become aware of unauthorized use of your account, contact us at hello@strangeydangey.com.
4. License to use the service
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Strangey Dangey for your own household use. You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service or its output without our written permission.
5. Acceptable use
When using Strangey Dangey, you agree not to:
- Use the service to harass, defame, or harm any person, including content creators whose work you submit for evaluation.
- Submit content that is illegal, infringes intellectual property rights, or violates the privacy of others.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, automate, or otherwise abuse the service in ways that exceed normal personal use.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network connected to the service, or breach any security or authentication measures.
- Use the service to develop competing products or to train competing AI models.
- Misrepresent yourself or impersonate another person or entity.
We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these rules.
6. AI-generated verdicts
The verdicts, category scores, and explanatory text in Strangey Dangey are generated by large language models. AI output can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. You are responsible for the final decision about what your kids watch. We do our best to make the verdicts accurate and useful, but we make no guarantees about any individual result.
7. Content you submit
You retain ownership of any content you submit (URLs, video titles, notes). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content as needed to operate and improve the service, including by sending it to our verdict-generation providers. We will not publish your submissions or attribute them to you publicly.
8. Third-party content
Strangey Dangey analyzes and displays metadata about content hosted on third-party platforms (such as YouTube). We do not own that content and we don't endorse the creators of that content. References to channels, shows, or franchises are nominative and do not imply any partnership or affiliation.
9. Pricing and subscriptions
We may offer paid features through Apple's in-app purchase system or other payment processors. Pricing, billing terms, and renewal behavior will be disclosed at the point of purchase. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their refund policy.
10. Changes to the service
We're a small team building a new product. Features will change. We may add, remove, or modify functionality, and we may discontinue all or part of the service. We'll give reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid features.
11. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if continued operation poses a risk to the service or other users, or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any information generated by the service will be accurate or reliable. Verdicts are not professional advice.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hilltop Unlimited LLC and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50), whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of these may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hilltop Unlimited LLC from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the service, your content submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we'll provide additional notice (such as an email or in-app notice) before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a corporate transaction.
