What they watch

Build their rotation.

Not every show you ever cleared. The handful in heavy play right now, per kid. It is the list the rest of the app is built on.

An accurate Brain Diet, a deck your kid can pick from unsupervised, and a list you can hand a sitter without handing over your phone.

What a rotation is, and isn't.

Two lists live in this app and they do different jobs.

Mia's rotation on the Kiddos tab: a strip of show posters, the Growing into shelf below it, and the Hand them the phone band under that.
One screen, three things this guide covers: the rotation, the Growing into shelf, and the door to Showtime.
  • The rotation is the short list.

Six-ish shows this kid is into this month. It changes only when you change it. A Clean verdict never adds itself.

  • The Watch tab is the long list.

Everything you've ever cleared, for everyone, filterable by kid and by how long you've got. Too big to be a picture of what one kid watches.

  • Which is why the diet reads the rotation.

Built from everything you ever screened, a diet would measure your curiosity. Built from the rotation, it measures their week.

Three ways in.

Shows get in by a deliberate act. Here are the three.

Setup, step six. Tap what they already watch and the button counts them.
Setup, step six. Tap what they already watch and the button counts them.
  1. 1

During setup: tap what they already watch.

A grid of shows and one instruction: tap the ones they already watch. We screen every one and build their first Brain Diet from the result.

Don't have the list in your head? Skip it. The rotation fills in as you screen things later.

  2. 2

From any verdict: "Add to their rotation."

Every result carries the button, and with more than one kid it asks which ones.

Next to it: "Already watches it." For shows that were in heavy play before you installed this.

  3. 3

From the Kiddos tab: tend it.

A strip of posters under each kid's diet. The chevron expands it to full rows: pull out what they've moved on from, tap a tile for that show's report.

Tap a bar on the diet above and the tiles that don't feed it dim. Shows nobody has watched in a while get flagged rather than quietly inflating the diet.

"Growing into": the no that isn't forever.

Where your childhood favorite goes when it's a hard pass at four.

  1. 1

Save it off a "not yet."

A title that doesn't clear offers one verb on that kid's row: Save it for someday. It lands on their shelf with a window. "Worth another look around 7." Or "One for the grown-up years."

  2. 2

We re-screen it, then we talk.

Cross the window and we re-run the whole screening against their current age and filters. Only then does the app speak.

Clean: See the verdict, Add to the rotation, and a notification naming the kid. Still not clean: no fanfare, the window updates. We promised to re-check, not to approve.

Why we won't just tell you an age

The window is typical-kid, default-settings guidance, so it says "around" rather than naming a birthday. The unlock fires off a fresh screening, never a prediction.

Send it to whoever has the kid tonight.

Grandparents, a sitter, the other house. No app, no account.

  1. 1

Tap the share icon on the rotation header.

Two options come up: Send live link and Share as image.

Mia's rotation on the Kiddos tab. The share control is tapped and a menu appears with two choices: Send live link and Share as image.
One tap on the rotation header. Live link for tonight's sitter, image for the fridge.
  2. 2

Live link: it stays current after you send it.

Label it ("For Nana"), pick Until I stop it or Tonight only, and text it.

They see a web page: that kid's current rotation, grouped by where each show streams, every tile jumping straight to it. Not your other kids, your filters, or your history. Nothing they can change. Shut it off any time from that kid's settings.

  3. 3

Image: for the fridge and the group chat.

A snapshot card that doesn't update. What you want for the fridge, or for someone who won't tap a link.

If the sitter comes every week

They can install the app and hold several live shares, one card per family. They see the rotations they were given and never join your household.

Next.

The rotation is the input. These are the payoffs.
