Strangey Dangey. Get the app
Two tabs

Find what each kid can watch.

The app has two tabs. Watch is for right now. Screened is everything you've ever checked, filed under each kid.

"Can I watch this?" already has an answer for each kid, before anyone asks.

Right now: Watch.

The app opens here: search at the top, who's watching under it, then Strangey's pick.

The Watch tab: the search, then the kid toggle on Both. Strangey's pick is Fox Tales: The Movie on Disney+: Yes, put it on. OK for Mia and Theo.
Both kids watching, so the pick is OK for both.
  1. 1

    Tap who's watching.

The toggle under the search reads Both, then each kid. Tap Theo and Strangey picks again, just for him. Screened uses the same toggle.

The Watch tab with Theo picked on the kid toggle. The pick is now The Dragon's Keep on Prime Video: Yes, put it on. OK for Theo.
Just Theo, so the pick can be one Mia isn't ready for.
  2. 2

    Put on Strangey's pick.

It's a show that's already been screened and is OK for every kid watching, on a service you have. Watch on YouTube (or wherever it streams) opens it. Full card shows the whole verdict.

Which services count is up to you: Settings, under Where you watch.

  3. 3

    Not feeling it? Scroll.

Under the pick: something shorter, another one for both, and rows of others that are also good. Free ones from services you don't pay for get their own labeled row.

Below the pick: Tidepool Tinkerers, shorter, and Moss and Marigold, another movie for both. Then an Also good row of posters, each with a Watch button.
Every tile is already OK for the kids you picked.

Everything so far: Screened.

Every screening lands here, whether it came from the share sheet, a search, or setup.

The Screened tab on Both: a This week bar with 16 screenings, 6 Yes, 6 Your call, 2 Split and 2 Hard pass. Then the Your call group: I Smashed My 10,000-Brick Castle, Ellie's Big Shopping Day!, Can We Escape the Giant Toy Store?, and Cloudburst Crew.
Both kids at once. The bar at the top is this week.
  1. 1

    Start on Both.

Four groups: Your call, Yes for both, One kid, not the other, and Hard pass. The split ones say who it's OK for: "OK for Theo · Not yet for Mia".

  2. 2

Tap a kid for their list.

The toggle at the top. One kid's page is Your call, OK for Mia, Not yet, and Hard pass. OK for Mia is the answer to "what can she watch?"

The Screened tab on Mia: this week, 6 OK, 6 Your call, 2 Not yet and 2 Hard pass.
Mia's week, in her own words: OK, Not yet, Hard pass.
  3. 3

Make the calls that are yours.

Your call comes first. Open a title and set each kid's row under Your kids: OK, Not yet, or Hard pass. It moves to that group.

Already know? Swipe the row instead: right to OK it, left to turn it down.

Not yet: the no that isn't forever.

Where your childhood favorite goes when it's a hard pass at four.

  1. 1

    It lands there two ways.

When the kids split, the one who hears no gets Not yet instead of Hard pass, because the same show is fine for a sibling. Or set a kid's row on any card to Not yet for Mia yourself.

Mia's page in Screened, near the end. Under Not yet: Captain Kazoo Goes to the Car Wash! and The Dragon's Keep, each with When Mia's older. Under Hard pass: Will It Explode? Watermelon vs. Soda, and INSANE Prank Goes WRONG!!!
The dragon movie Theo got on Watch waits here for Mia.
  2. 2

Strangey checks again as they grow.

A Not yet row says so: "When Mia's older." When she gets there, the whole screening runs again against her age and limits at that point.

  3. 3

If it clears, you hear about it.

A fresh Yes sends a notification naming the kid, and the tap opens Screened on them. Still not a Yes? No banner. It stays in Not yet.

Two more places it shows up.

  • On the Home Screen.

Add the OK to Watch widget and pick a kid. It shows what's OK for them, newest first, and a tap opens Screened on that kid.

  • On the other parent's phone.

Settings, then Invite your co-parent. You both screen, and you both see every call.
